Jeremiah 1:12 ESV Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”
Jehovah said to Jeremiah that He is watching over his word to perform it, this is wonderful because He is given us promises, He has written commandments in our hearts, He has given word of encouragement and life to our being, He has put the Spirit of his Son in us, which is Christ (The Word) and He is watching over so that the whole word that he has put in us are met, for that reason it says in a passage:
2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
That is to say, He is alert, attentive to what he has put in us for that every word be fulfilled. In the original Hebrew «watching over» can be translated as «sleepless», that is, He does not sleep, He is always attentive to what He has put in us, and He hastens to fulfill his word in us, we just should not have it for lateness, but to know that He is alert.
Psalm 121:3–4 ESV He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Jeremiah 1:12 KJV Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Habakkuk 2:3 KJV For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
